On the surface level, sharing your information with companies such as Google and Facebook is reasonable for they use this feature to improve our experiences with their application and platforms. They can tweak the system of our programs based on our behavior of users, to maximize the user interface and user experience of a consumer.

But as responsible users, we should draw the line on how much information should we put out to these companies. Since they hold higher authority, once the information has been collected, we cannot reverse what they have already known. We should consider this an invasion of our online privacy because they can use their technology to collect information without our conscious consent. From selling this data to advertisers to bombard us with ads catered to the conversation you had 5 minutes ago, or to track down your identity, or even steal it, for the sake of an agenda you disagree with, we should always be wary of the information we release online. Whether the abusers of these data are corporations, hackers, or thieves, let us practice the art of thinking before giving information.
